Dear Friends,
This weekend the Gospel is that of the Prodigal Son, also known as the parable of the Forgiving Father. It has been described as the greatest short story ever written. The message is an extraordinary one, telling us that basically God sees us in a way that we rarely see each other; through pure mercy, the way a parent will loving look on a small child. Regardless of what the child does, the parent’s love does not change an iota. That is how God sees us. What a wonderful message.
On a more down to earth note, we have now reached just under $1,000,000 in our capital campaign, which his wonderful. Hopefully with more pledges we will reach our goal of $1.3 or even $1.5. Have a great weekend. Fr. Murchadh
