Today is the feast of the Conversion of St. Paul. This is an event that is often overlooked, it was so extreme. St. Paul was the Jewish equivalent of some of the ISIS leaders today, determined to wipe out Christianity at any cost, killing and imprisoning as he went. And then he had this surprising encounter with Jesus appearing to him. Overnight he became one of the strongest preachers of Christianity ever, equally zealous and unstoppable. His conversion always reminds me of the extraordinary things God can do through any one person. It also gives us hope for changes that can take place even when we think things are impossible. ‘For nothing is impossible to God’ -the Angel Gabriel to Mary.
